NEO

I was in a rut, and wanted a way out, with no idea how to break the cycle of homelessness. What I did know was, that I had always had a dream; to get into property development. But I had no clue whether I would enjoy the job or how to go about getting into the field nor did I have the skills for it. I spoke to my advisor and learnt that there was a role where I was able to go and see whether I even liked the work. I completed a taster session, which gradually grew into working in the MSHA upcycling workshop, which I enjoyed and then went on to complete a work-based experience in maintenance, which I loved!

I feel like the progression for me that was aimed specifically at me and a pace that I was comfortable with has helped me develop a routine and helped me combat my demons.

I love that I am now in employment, doing something that I have always wanted to do and love that I am learning the skills that will one day fulfil my dream of having my property portfolio!
